Sheffield University In Occupation!

Students at Sheffield University occupied a lecture theater in the Hicks building at 7:15pm today.

The students decided to occupy in solidarity with the people of Gaza and in response to the University Administration and Vice Chancellor’s uncooperative approach towards student’s previous list of demands.

Palestinian Women Visit Today, Monday 9th at 4

Today, at 4 o'clock in FB113 (yes, that's the room we occupied!) we have some women from Palestine coming to speak to us. They live in the West Bank and are part of a tour of Palestinian women coming to the UK as part of a twinning project with Tower Hamlets and Jenin.

Everyone is welcome and you will all get the opportunity to ask questions and talk to the women. Hope to see you all there...

Huge Victory for UEL Occupation!

UEL Occupation have won all their demands today and left room EB 1.04 this evening shouting 'Free Free Palestine!' A full list of accepted demands will be on their blog soon.

The occupation of Cardiff University has ended with success as Cardiff University acceded to the occupiers’ key demand – to divest from the arms trade. West Bank: 50 Students Arrested

On February 18th 2009 in the early hours of the morning, Occupation forces rampaged through the West Bank village of Jayyous conducting violent house to house raids and carrying out mass arrests totalling over 50 students and nearly the entire youth committee of Stop the Wall Campaign.

For months the youth movement in Jayyous had made it one of the most active villages in the West Bank , embodying a strained resistance against occupation and the wall which will carve through village land destroying hundreds of olive trees and cutting the village off from many of its primary water supplies.
